Unlike so many boys, I do not think about the Roman Empire multiple times a week. However, I do think about Paul Giamatti's character in the Oscar-nominated film The Holdovers at least once a week, if not more, and I don't even want to know how many times per day Paul Hunham thinks about that historical period. He brings it up constantly to his students, his colleagues, and even to random drunk guys at the bowling alley who are clearly not interested in what he has to say. It's really quite a shame that being a guy who's into Ancient Rome is seldom a career. Mr. Hunham hit the job lottery as far as niche professions go, and even though everybody kind of hates him, I love his fixation on this period of history. If you wish you could've taken Ancient Civilization in high school, these Ancient Rome memes are just perfect.
